A 37-story concrete building resting on soft soil and resisting seismic loads was checked with and without viscose dampers.
The first image is from Google, and the others are my results.
The effectiveness of this system relies on choosing the proper dampers with damping and stiffness coefficients, and the location and number of dampers in the building.
The graphs below show each story's lateral displacement one for each case, with and without dampers.
